In HRSimplified, managers play a critical role in the final stage of the performance review process. After employees and peers complete their assessments, managers can review the results, adjust scores, recommend training, and assign mentors. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to conduct performance reviews and provide development recommendations in HRSimplified.
Steps to Conduct a Performance Review #
1. Access Assigned Performance Reviews #
- Log in to HRSimplified and navigate to the Performance Management module.
- Under Performance Management, Assessments, you’ll see a list of employees who have completed their self-assessments and peer reviews.
- Select the employee whose review you want to finalize.
2. Review Employee and Peer Feedback #
- Employee Self-Assessment: Start by reviewing the employee’s self-assessment, including their feedback on their KPAs and KPIs, along with responses to any open-ended questions.
- Peer Reviews: Review the feedback provided by peers. Peer reviews offer insights into how the employee collaborates with colleagues, handles team dynamics, and contributes to overall team success.
3. Adjust Scores and Provide Manager Feedback #
- Adjust Scores: As a manager, you have the ability to adjust the scores provided by the employee or peers based on your observations. This is particularly useful if you’ve noticed strengths or areas for improvement that were not fully addressed in the self-assessment or peer feedback.
- Add Manager Comments: Provide detailed feedback in the comments section. Your feedback should be constructive, addressing both the employee’s achievements and any areas that need improvement.
- Example: “You exceeded your sales target by 15%, which demonstrates your initiative in driving revenue. However, there’s room for improvement in collaborating with the customer service team to ensure client satisfaction post-sale.”
Steps to Recommend Training and Development #
1. Identify Skill Gaps #
- Based on the review, identify any skill gaps or areas where the employee could benefit from further development. These can be technical skills, leadership abilities, or other competencies tied to their role.
2. Recommend Training #
- Training Module: HRSimplified integrates a Training Module, where you can recommend specific training courses or programs to help employees develop the necessary skills.
- How to Recommend Training:
- After completing the review, go to the Training Recommendations section.
- Select relevant courses based on the employee’s development needs from the list that is available in the drop down.
3. Assign a Mentor for Development #
- In cases where more hands-on development is needed, you can assign a mentor to guide the employee in their growth.
- How to Assign a Mentor:
- Go to the Mentorship section of the review.
- Select a mentor from the company’s employee list based on the skills the employee needs to develop.
- Once assigned, the mentor can track their sessions with the employee and record progress under the Mentorship tab in the My Performance section.
Finalizing the Review #
1. Submit the Manager Review #
- After adjusting scores, providing feedback, recommending training, and assigning a mentor (if applicable), you can submit the final review. This completes the performance review process for that employee.
2. Employee Acknowledgment #
- After submission, the employee will be notified and have a chance to provide any final comments or feedback before the review is finalized.
3. Performance Review Download #
- Once the review is complete, the employee can download the final assessment as a PDF for their records.
Important Notes: #
- Balanced Feedback: Ensure your feedback is balanced, recognizing strengths and offering guidance on areas of improvement.
- Training Recommendations: Tailor training recommendations to the employee’s role and career growth path to ensure that development efforts are aligned with company goals.
- Mentorship Assignment: Assign mentors carefully, considering who has the right skills and experience to help the employee grow.
