How to Manage Mentorship and Track Progress

1 min read

In HRSimplified, the mentorship feature allows managers to assign mentors to employees, providing ongoing guidance and support for development. Both managers and mentors can track progress over time, recording sessions and monitoring achievements. Here’s how to manage mentorship effectively.

Steps to Manage Mentorship: #

HRSimplified My performance Mentorship section with list of mentorships that are active

1. Assign a Mentor to an Employee #

  • Log in to HRSimplified and navigate to the Performance Management module.
  • In the employee’s performance review, go to the Mentorship section.
  • Select a Mentor: Use the searchable dropdown to select a mentor from the company’s employee list. This should be someone with the skills and experience needed to help the employee grow in a particular area.
    • Example: If an employee needs to improve leadership skills, you might assign a senior team leader as their mentor.

2. Mentor’s Role and Access #

  • Mentor’s Dashboard: Once assigned, the mentor will receive a notification and can access the mentorship details in the My Performance section under the Mentorship tab.
  • Track Mentorship Sessions: The mentor can record progress by logging mentorship sessions, including discussions, goals, and feedback for the employee. This creates a record of the development efforts over time.

3. Monitor Mentorship Progress #

  • Both the mentor and manager can monitor the mentorship process through the Mentorship tab. This allows tracking of the employee’s development based on the sessions held, the skills worked on, and any progress made.

Important Notes: #

  • Continuous Feedback: Mentors should provide regular feedback to both the employee and the manager, helping the employee refine skills in real time.
  • Mentorship Sessions: Each session should be recorded to maintain a complete record of the mentorship process, with notes on progress and areas needing further attention.
