How to Update Employee Education Details in HRSimplified

This guide explains how to add or update an employee’s education details in HRSimplified, including required fields and the conditions to activate the Save button.

Accessing the Education Section #

  1. Navigate to HR Administration:
    • Go to HR Administration > All Employees to locate the employee whose education details you want to update.
  2. Edit Employee Profile:
    • Select the employee and open their profile. In the profile, navigate to the Qualifications tab.
  3. Open the Create Education Modal:
    • In the Qualifications tab, click + Create Education to open the form where you can input education details.

Completing the Education Details Form #

In the Create Education modal, fill in the following fields:

  • Institute Name (Required): Enter the name of the educational institution. This field must be filled in to activate the Save button.
  • Course Name (Required): Enter the name of the course or program the employee completed or is currently enrolled in.
  • Start Date (Required): Select the start date of the course. This is another required field to enable the Save button.
  • End Date: Input the course end date, if applicable. This field is optional and can be left blank if the course is still ongoing.
  • Course Description: Provide additional details about the course, if necessary.
  • Education Code (Required): This field is necessary to activate the Save button, even though it does not currently display an asterisk (*) to indicate that it’s required. If you don’t have an Education Code, you can enter “N/A” to bypass this field.
  • NQF Level: Enter the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) level for the course, if relevant.
  • Completed: Toggle this option if the course has been completed.

Saving the Education Details #

  • Once all required fields (Institute Name, Course Name, Start Date, and Education Code) are populated, the Save button will become active.
  • Click Save to update the employee’s education details.

Note: If the Save button remains greyed out, double-check that each required field is filled in correctly, especially the Education Code. We recommend entering “N/A” if no code is available.


Additional Notes #

Permissions: Ensure that the user has the necessary permissions to update employee information. If there’s an access issue, contact your administrator.
